Cubes 2 is a 5-reel, 5-row online casino game with cluster pays mechanic and a maximum win of just over 10,000x the stake; however, performing certain in-game actions can expand the game grid to 11x11 in size, while the aim is to land winning symbol combinations with the help of the various bonus features and symbols.
Like its predecessor, Cubes 2 showcases a simple visual presentation. The background is grey and shows various cubes in the act moving into the distance. The game grid dominates the screen and comprises 25 colourful cubes in a 5x5 layout; the game logo is atop this (although curiously, the "2" is missing from the title). When pressing the spin button, the cubes also shuffle around the game grid to present different-coloured sides.
Cubes 2 eschews the xylophone-inspired soundtrack of the original for a unique and relaxing drum/piano combination alongside the usual sound effects when spinning the reels, landing symbols in view, etc.
