How to Play

There are two games on each Tropical Escape card. While the gameplay for each one is effectively the same in terms of removing the virtual coating to find out what symbols reside underneath, there are significant differences between each game.

Game 1

It doesn’t get any easier than Game 1 of Tropical Escape, making it the ideal introduction for first time scratchcard players. There’s just one symbol to reveal. If you find the sun, you win £1. If it’s not the sun, you don’t win. It’s that simple. It is a potential way to double your stake before moving onto the main bulk of Tropical Escape.

Game 2

Rather than just uncovering 1 symbol, Game 2 of Tropical Escape involves a 3x3 grid with 9 symbols in total. To win a prize in Game 2, you have to match 3 symbols in total. These symbols have to be revealed only on Game 2’s play area, and not in combination with Game 1. In addition, they must be found on the same card. 

If you manage to land 3 matching symbols, the cash prize you win is indicated below these symbols. The prizes range drastically. This starts with winning back your initial 50p stake to landing the bumper £20,000 jackpot.

Scratch to win

To find out if you have won in either of the Tropical Escape games, you must reveal the symbols as indicated. This is done by scratching away the virtual coating.

Scratching manually

Are you worried an online scratchcard will lose the thrill of playing its physical counterpart? There’s no need to worry as you can manually scratch the coating away, much like you would with a coin. Yet instead of a coin, you use your finger on the phone’s touchscreen, swiping across the play area until every symbol is revealed.  

Shaking your device will also strip away the coating. Alternatively, press ‘Reveal all’ at the bottom of the screen to instantly reveal every symbol. 

Scratching automatically

With cards only costing 50p each, it’s not uncommon for players of Tropical Escape to purchase multiple cards at a time. In this case, our auto scratch function lets you speed through your cards. Once you have switched it ‘on’, this feature will auto reveal the results, display them for you to see, and move straight onto the next card. 

You can stop auto scratch by flicking the switch ‘off’. It will also come to a stop if you secure a big win or run out of cards.

Winning prizes

In Game 2, you will be alerted to a winning 3-symbol match by each symbol lighting up. If you happen to win, total prize amounts across both games will be displayed for your convenience. 

Any matching symbols must be found on a single card. If matching symbols are discovered across multiple Tropical Escape cards, this does not represent a win.
