Atlantis Rising is the brainchild of Las Vegas-based SpinPlay Games. The studio, founded only in 2019, is a newcomer to the iGaming space. SpinPlay signed an exclusivity deal with Microgaming a year later, and it's not hard to see why the gaming giant would want to partner with the studio. The slot's setting is ostensibly the watery domain of Atlantis. This genre has become increasingly popular with recent UK online casino games. Judging by the visuals, it's a slightly murky place with deep shades of purple being the primary colours, although a hint of sunlight streams in from above the waves, creating a moody atmosphere. A row of bronze statues holding gilded tridents dominates the background. Below these are several randomly placed crystalline aquatic and glowing mushrooms. The slot has an almost modern Celtic music score that plays when spinning the reels and between spins, accompanied by distinctive choral chants. The music’s chord progression moves from rousing to epic to dreamlike and back again It also tends to overshadow any ambient sound effects that play when spinning the reels. The bubble-shaped Rising Wild symbols can randomly appear on any reel on any given spin, moving up by one position with each subsequent spin (and making plopping sounds as they do). Rising Wild symbols can also carry a 2x multiplier.
Wild Blast Feature
Triggering the Wild Blast feature requires landing a compass symbol behind a Rising Wild. All adjacent positions get turned into Wilds or Wilds with a 2x multiplier. These newly-created Wilds do not carry over to the next spin.
Free Spins Feature
The feature is triggered by landing 3 or more Free Spin Scatter symbols on the reels. This activates a Bubble Pick feature where players can pick bubbles to reveal Free Spins or bubble picks. Landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatter symbols awards 10, 15, or 20 bubble picks. Each bubble can award 1 - 5 spins or 2 - 3 bubble picks; each additional Scatter grants an additional 5 Free Spins.
