Pirate Pays Megaways is a standalone slot with no direct prequels or sequels. Normally, developers take a pre-existing slot game and revamp it using the Megaways engine. Being a slot revolving around the theme of salty sea dogs sailing the Spanish Main during the golden age of piracy, the game takes place in the stern of a Spanish galleon as it cuts its way through the clear blue waters of the Caribbean. The amount of care and attention paid to it is simply staggering. The skies are bright blue and show white clouds streaking out on either side of the ship, while the horizon shows dark and distant mountains. The reels themselves are placed against the ship’s stern, while the adornments that run around the stern’s perimeter serve as the frame that encases the game grid, which is itself a riot of colour thanks to the nautical-themed symbols. There are some neat animations as well, such as the sea getting churned beneath the ship as it moves, the sails flapping in the breeze and the seagulls flying to and fro in the sky. Kraken Bonus Round Feature
This feature is triggered by landing at least 3 Scatter symbols. If one of the triggering Scatters just so happens to be a Purple Chest Megascatter symbol, then an Enhanced Bonus Round is awarded.
20 different Free Spins outcomes are shown at the start of the bonus round. Each outcome presents a certain number of Free Spins alongside a Win Multiplier that increases by +1 after each reaction in the bonus round.
One outcome is removed for every additional Scatter that triggered the feature over and above the minimum 3 required. The ship’s broadside cannons remove an additional 5 outcomes, after which you’ll be presented with a Free Spins offer.
