The team over at Slingo Originals has been working on developing games with the popular slot/bingo mechanic featured here for many years. The standard 5x5 play grid used in many Slingo games features in Slingo Showdown above an additional row of 5 reels that players can spin during play. All of the number symbols in play comprise playing cards between 2 and A of the Clubs, Hearts, Diamonds and Spades that are shot off the screen if a matching card potentially lands in play. To the left of the play grid is a prize ladder showing the potential multipliers of landing between 4 and 12 Slingos (called a Full House). To the right is another prize display showing values related to the poker hands in play. The background shows a wooden wall of a traditional Western saloon with a golden pocket watch and sheriff badge, reiterating this theme's popularity in many new slots.

The base gameplay of Slingo Showdown has gamers hoping to shoot cards from the play grid to form lines vertically, horizontally or diagonally, otherwise known as Slingos! The number of Slingos made determines the gamers' progression on the prize ladder. The prize ladder of Slingo Showdown ranges in value between 2x and 30x, correlating to 4 and 12 Slingo lines.
Once the player has set a stake they are comfortable with, they can start the game. This provides 10 deals of cards in which players will hope to both create Poker hands and land card values to make Slingos in play. The potential hands that players can land from any spins of the bottom reels and their values include:
- Two Pair = Two pairs of the same card values dealt in play valued at 0.2x the stake.
- Three Of A Kind = Three cards with the same values are dealt in play valued at 0.5x the stake.
- Straight = Five cards of different suits in increasing numerical order valued at 1x the stake.
- Flush = Five cards of the same suit in any order valued at 2x the stake.
- Full House = Three of a kind and a single Pair dealt in play valued at 3x the stake.
- Four Of a Kind = Four off the same card values dealt in play valued at 5x the stake.
- Straight Flush = Five cards of the same suit in increasing numerical order valued at 10x the stake.
- Five Of a Kind = Five of the same card values dealt in play valued at 25x the stake.
- Royal Flush = Five higher value cards (10 - A) of the same suit valued at 50x the stake.
Slingo Showdown Bonus Features
Along with the base gameplay in Sling Showdown, Slingo Originals has included some bonus features for players in this title. Players can trigger further spins once the original 10 are played. However, this is a completely optional feature.
