Typically, the game starts by dealing one face-up card to each player and the dealer. Subsequently, players receive a second face-up card, while the dealer gets a face-down card. If a player's initial two cards are an Ace and a 10-value card, forming Blackjack, they emerge victorious! If not, the game proceeds.
Various strategic options are open to players should their initial two cards not result in Blackjack. For instance, players may opt to "hit" (draw another card) or "stand" (retain their current hand). Another choice is to "double down", involving a doubling of the original bet and receipt of just one additional card. Alternatively, players can split a pair of equally valued cards into two hands, playing each separately. Ultimately, players risk going "bust" if the combined value of their two cards surpasses 21.
